After its South Korean debut, the 2021 GV80 from Genesis has now been officially unveiled in the US.
With an appearance that is virtually similar to the KDM counterpart, this spec model for the US market looks like the baby version of the Bentley Bentayga expected to hit the dealerships this summer.
There will be two engines available in the US. The company didn’t specified things but they confriemd that the options are going to include the 3.5-L twin-turbo with 370+ hp and the 2.5-L turbocharged 4-cylinder with 300 hp.
Although Genesis needs that the GV80 will become a hit, the company didn’t really say more regarding the crossover. But, they confirmed that this is going to be offered with power-reclining, ventilated, and second-row heated seats together with a Remote Smart Park Assist. This latter feature can also be found on the 2020 Hyundai Sonata.
Even though details are still a bit lacking, the GV80 with specs made for the US market should have an infotainment system with 14.5 inches, augmented reality navigation, and handwriting recognition technology. Other expected features include an assortment of systems for driver assistance, an air purification system, and state of the art technology for noise cancelation. The driver assistance systems will probably include Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Machine Learning, Rear Cross Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist, and Blind Spot Collision Avoidance.
The pricing is of course the main question here. Models from Genesis often offer some good value for money. However, there is still no word on the amount of the model and how nice its equipment will be.
