After its initial North American debut back in Toronto, the US market has seen for the first time the 2018 Hyundai Accent during the Orange County Auto Show.
This time round, this all-new fifth generation Accent comes packed with the newest cascading grille of Hyundai as well as a general design which takes inspiration from most of the elements seen in its bigger Elantra sibling.
The new Hyundai Accent rides on an equally brand new chassis which features 32 percent more rigidity and more high strength steel. With these improvements, you can expect that this new ride will offer you better ride comfort, stability and handling, and a much better safety if an accident occurs.
This new Accent is also offering a roomier and more expansive interior, made possible by the longer wheelbase of 0.4 inches, as well as the wider body by 1.2 inches. Its dashboard also comes with a driver oriented layout which hosts a whole new infotainment system which comes with either a 7-inch or 5-inch touchscreen display. Its quality is also remarkably better as Hyundai decided to use numerous soft touch materials in the key points.
The 1.6-liter Gamma 4-cylinder petrol unit is the only engine option combined with the standard 6-speed manual or the optional 6-speed automatic transmission. Its power output has been rated at 119 lb-ft of torque and 130 hp. Models that have been fitted with the automatic also come with Drive Mode Select feature where the driver can choose between Sport and Normal.
This latest model from Hyundai also benefits from other exciting features such as the Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, an auxiliary port, dual USB ports, and a Forward Collision-avoidance Assist. The Blue Link customers are also going to receive a Remote Start with Climate Control together with integrations for Google Home and Amazon Alexa.
