The 2019 MotoGP season means someone will be taking home a new car. BMW has just announced that the winner of BMW M Award will be getting an SUV, something that will be happening for the very first time.
What is even more exciting here is that this SUV is not your average vehicle. This is the high performance 2020 X4 M Competition that boasts of some of the most powerful straight-6 gasoline engine that has ever been used in a BMW M vehicle. It also has a 3.0-L twin turbo unit that delivers 503 horsepower or 510 PS and a torque of 600 Nm or 442 pound feet.
The 2020 BMW X4 M Competition also features the latest M xDrive AWD System and 8-speed M Steptronic transmission complete with Drivelogic. When combined, you can expect that this SUV can sprint from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour or 62 miles per hour in just a matter of 4.1 seconds. It can hit its top speed of as much as 280 kilometers per hour or 174 miles per hour.
BMW X4 M Competition features Merino Adelaide Grey leather upholstery, Toronto Red Metallic paintwork, and some goodies including M Competition Package, M Sport Seats as well as M Sport Exhaust System. Carbon Exterior Package is an exclusive special feature and it’ll be launched later this year.
According to BMW M GmbH’s Vladimir Bistrivoda, the MotoGP Collaboration’s Head, for 2019 season they selected BMW X4 M Competition as it combines performance, athleticism, adrenalin, and passion. These attributes that it shares with MotoGP and performances that its riders wow the crowds at the race tracks.
Marc Marquez is the current record holder. He already claimed BMW M Award 6 times in a row. Casey Stoner and Valentino Rossi each have 3 wins. Nicky Hayden and Sete Gibernau have 1 BMW M Awards each and Jorge Lorenzo got 2 awards.
