The 2018 RLX flagship sedan has now been revealed, and it is obvious that Acura has made a few tweaks here and there which benefits from the newest design direction followed by the brand combined with a whole new array of technologies.
The front end has seen the most obvious change because the latest RLX now boasts of the brand’s signature diamond pentagon grille together with a hood that looks more sculpted.
The rest of the updates include the redesigned LED taillights, new designs for the wheel, a gloss black rear diffuser, and new dual exhaust tips.
According to Acura, they also made further optimization in the Sport Hybrid model’s powertrain and the Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive technology, as inspired by lessons they learned with NSX. Its system continues to provide a combination of 377hp as three electric motors work hand in hand with direct-injected V6.
A few other changes in the hardware include the addition of the ten-speed automatic gearbox to regular RLX that’s powered by a 310 horsepower 3.5L V6. This new gearbox offers better performance and more refinement. 2018 Acura RLX comes with AcuraWatch suite of technology, which is now improved with Traffic Jam Assist, which is a first for Acura. Through adaptive cruise control along with Low Follow, Traffic Jam Assist aids keeping the car in its lane as well as interval behind the car ahead in a congested traffic situation.
Some standard features such as premium quality Krell Audio System, steering wheel, heated rear seats, heated front seats, remote engine start, LED fog lights, parking sensors, Surround View Camera, and much more.
There are 3 new exterior colors added to the palette, including 2 premium paint finishes, which are Majestic Black Pearl and Brilliant Red Metallic. The cabin was updated with good quality materials and updated touchpoints like a redesigned seat and new Espresso interior.
