As the Detroit show came to an end, all the attention is now towards the Chicago Auto Show which is expected to happen soon. In preparation for this, organizers of the show have revealed the list of vehicles which are going to be displayed, and it seems that among them is none other than the latest Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.
This item has been discovered by the Mustag6G’s fanboys before this was taken down. Even though this might mean that it was an error, it can be safe to believe that this mistake was getting it published before its debut has been officially announced, and not that this will not really be there.
It is expected that this highly anticipated latest pony car is going to be powered by the 5.2 L supercharged V8 in accordance to the same unit which propels the GT350R and GT350 although with the snail boosting output from the 526 hp to more than 700. This will take the fight directly to the 707 hp of the Dodge Challenger SRT Helicat, and the 650 hp of the Chevy Camaro ZL1. The two are both similarly powered by the supercharged V8 in spite of the bigger displacement.
In case this output figure is proven correct, this will also make the latest GT500 much more powerful compared to the Ford GT, with the 3.5 L twin-turbocharge V6 producing an amazing 647 hp. This GT is going to be lighter although it is believed that super-stang can reach as much as 200 mph.
The previous Shelby GT500 available in 2007 through 2009 came with a 5.4 L supercharged V8 that is rated at 500 horsepower or 540 horsepower in GT500 KR. It has been pointed out that the particular division currently called Ford Performance has an extensive history of debuts in the Chicago show which stretched all the way back to the 1990s’ F-150 SVT Lightning and Mustang SVT Cobra.
