Not too long ago, Cadillac dropped some hints that they will be expanding their current lineup of V-Series models known for their high performance. And to stay true to their promise, the carmaker finally removed the wraps from their range-topping CT6 sedan that will be getting a V-Performance, a first in the history of this particular model. If this is not enough, Cadillac added that the entire CT6 lineup will get an overhaul styling cues that take inspirations from the awesome Escala Concept.
The latest CT6 V-Sports is the first in the series of the latest performance cars from Cadillac. This comes with the all-new 4.2-L twin-turbo V8 engine producing around 550 HP and 627 pound feet of torque. According to Cadillac, its engine is of clean sheet design with one-of-a-kind elements that strike the perfect balance between compact packaging, efficiency, and performance. A hot V configuration lies at the heart of the company’s new twin turbo V8 in which turbochargers have been mounted in the middle of the heads to remove turbo lag and decrease the overall size of the engine. The power is sent through a ten-speed automatic transmission.
Optimized gear ratios improve performance and reduce engine speed on highway for efficiency and refinement. With Cadillac’s latest CT6 V-Sport, the car maker starts another chapter when it comes to performance legacy through introducing the first twin-turbo V8 engine of the brand. It’s the highlight of the latest CT6 V-Sport, which a sport sedan infused with the championship-winning and globally-renowned motorsports program of the Cadillac. The first Cadillac CT6 V-Sport is a dark, bold front with big V-inspired mesh grille, rear spoiler, and new LED horizontal headlamps.
There is a raft of new technology as well, including infotainment system with 10” 1080p display providing smartphone-like experience with enhanced voice recognition and faster responses. A variety of driver assists include Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Safety Alert Seat, Lane Keep Assist, Forward Collision Alert, and so on. The semi-autonomous Cadillac Super Cruise System is only available in models that are non-V-Sport.
