If you are still thirsting for M8 Gran Coupe’s drop-dead gorgeous looks, BMW is now here to fill you up with what you have been waiting for – an eye-catching video which shows off all of this masterpiece’s glory, which features the furious howl of an unfamiliar power plant. This might not yet be official yet the smart money is on the 4.4-L twin-turbo V8 tuned by M division to 615hp in the M5, complete with the M xDrive all-wheel drive system that comes with it.
But, you can forget about it. With the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe 63 S 4Matic+ boasting of 663lb-ft of torque and 630 hp, and with BMW having yet another year to look for the additional 20 hp, you can believe that their M division is out to beat the 3.2-second 0 to 60 time of AMG even if this says that it is not all about acceleration times.
For the lesser 8 Series models, the 4.4L V8 Turbo will mirror 750i’s 445hp and 480 pound-foot as well as plug-in hybrid variant like 740e that a 322 horsepower and 369 pound-foot total system power and may be driven up to speed of 87mph on the electric power.
Today, BMW can be calling this a concept, yet it’s not far-fetched and out of the possibility realm. Front end evolves kidney grille as well as intakes you see in M5 with a much aggressive chin. Its roofline is not far off what you see in current 6 Series GC. But, some only want to see those wheels for the M8 CS model. If you are ready to run to a nearby BMW store to put down your deposits, you have to take note that 8 Series Gran Coupe is not scheduled to arrive until next year while Coupe will arrive the summer with Cabriolet.
