The new i Vision Future Interaction concept has been finally presented by Bhas at the Consumer Electronics Show in LA. The concept based on the i8 Spyder one, is considered a highly-automated roadster boasting a high-tech cabin specifically designed for autonomous driving.
The 21-inch panorama display that is placed on the passenger side of the dashboard seems to be the most significant interior improvement; and yet the display won't switch to a major entertainment system until the car gets into the autonomous driving mode. The system itself enables drivers to surf the web, check their e-mails, watch video clips and so on and so forth.
Drivers will find a high-tech instrument cluster holding a 3-dimensional display which provides them with actual info and details about any other vehicles on the road ahead no matter if they are in the drivers' field of vision or not.
Another quite new segment is the AirTouch gesture control system allowing drives to use the panorama display without having to touch anything at all. The system itself has a wide range of sensors, the role of which is to detect and read any hand movements. For instance, a simple forward movement of the hand in a push gesture will enable them to make the needed selection on the display.
BMW packed its new concept with an extraordinary drive mode selector switch providing drivers with 3 options in total. The Pure Drive mode offers the conventional driving skills and experience as the Assist mode on the other hand switches on whenever an actual collision is detected.
Last but not least comes the Auto Mode offering an autonomous driving experience and whenever picked the mode has the steering wheel illuminated blue and gets it to move forward which gives drivers more space for relaxation. The model's sports seats are easily adjustable as they can simply be turned into a more lounge-like option, making it easier for drivers to check their panorama display.
