The wraps are finally removed as BMW showcases their all-new M3 CS.
Meant to provide the perfect combination of everyday practicality and high performance, this new model offers the upgraded 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder engine which develops a torque of 443 lb-ft or 600 NM and 453 hp or 337 kW. This is then connected to the 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission that allows the special edition in order to accelerate from 0 to as much as 60 mph in just a matter of 3.7 seconds prior to hitting the limited top speed to around 174 mph or 280 km/h.
The changes in terms of performance don’t just stop under the hood because the M3 CS weighs around 110 pounds or 50 kg less compared to the standard model, made possible by the extensive use of the carbon fiber-reinforced plastic. The new lightweight material has been used on the roof and hood and the bigger parts of the body. It doesn’t only make M3 CS lighter, but also it reduces the center of gravity of the vehicle.
In terms of performance modifications, the drivers will find Adaptive M Suspension, dual-branch sports exhaust with 4 tailpipes, and Active M Differential. BMW M3 CS is also equipped with new rear spoiler, 19-/20” forged alloy wheels wrapped in the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, and M4 GTS rear diffuser.
The unique styling of BMW M3 CS continues in its cabin as the designers installed 2-tone Merino leather sport seats as well as Alcantara accents. Some highlights include special door sill plates, Harman Kardon Audio System, and GPS navigation and infotainment system.
BMW M3 CS production is only limited to 1200 units across the globe and over 550 cars are bound for US. No further details about on its pricing yet. However, customers may place their orders by the month of May.
