These days, a compact hot drive boasting of 400 horsepower no longer leaves a wow factor on most car aficionados. However, one with 500 horsepower is still a big deal and the newest project of ABT, the extremely powerful Audi RS3 Sportback, is exactly just that.
On the Facebook page of the tuner, you will see the car poised in front of the camera with mountain scenery on the backdrop. With this shot, you will see how aggressive the car looks although its appearance doesn’t really deviate that much from the looks of the stock car. A much closer look will make you see the logos of ABT yet you better brace yourself for the performance figures it got to offer.
This beast of a car comes with 493 horsepower and 570 Nm of torque produced by its tuned 2.5-L five pot. The additional 99 horsepower and 90 Nm was made possible with the inclusion of the aftermarket exhaust and intercooler system together with a little fiddling on the ECU. It only takes 3.7 seconds to go from 0 to 100 kilometer per hour with 299 kilometer per hour as its top speed.
Not too long ago, these figures would have already been regarded as a supercar. Take for example the Ferrari F430 that is slower to only 100 kilometers per hour. It is slower for 0.3 seconds but it still has a significant top speed edge of 16 kilometers per hour.
In reality, these performance numbers are far from shocking if you will consider that the stock RS3 Sportback itself is almost as fast as the Ferrari F430 that requires 4.1 seconds to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h, with a top speed of 280 km/h with its factory-detached speed limiter.
