At Texas State Fair, Ford introduced a total of 4 new special editions. Since Texas is responsible for about twenty-five percent of the sales of Ford Expedition in the US, the car brand rewards its loyal buyers Texas Edition. Based on Ford Expedition Limited with Special Edition Package, Texas Edition showcases 22” alloy wheels and special badging.
Ford Expedition Stealth Edition comes with more extensive changes because it has gloss black accents including roof rails, mirrors, and grille. Some gloss black components are lighting unit surrounds, rear skid plate, and running boards. Rounding out such changes are black badges, 22” aluminum black finish wheels, continuous controlled damping system, and red contrast stitching.
Since every special edition is based on Ford Expedition Limited, it is powered by 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine, which develops 375 horsepower and torque of 470 pound-foot or 636Nm. It’s connected to a 10-speed automatic transmission that can be paired to the optional 4- wheel drive system. Besides Ford Expeditions, Ford introduced 2 special editions of Ford Explorer. The first is Ford Explorer Limited Luxury Edition that’s based on Limited variant and comes with a revised exterior along with 20” aluminum painted accent wheels and chrome mirror caps.
The bigger changes happen in the vehicle’s cabin as the new car comes with multi-contour seats that are wrapped in Nirvana leather that is micro-perforated. Aside from that, the crossover has door panels with beautiful leather inserts and revised steering wheel.
Ford also unveiled Explorer Desert Copper Edition. The special edition is based on Explorer XLT and comes with 20” polished aluminum wheels and chrome mirror caps. Some highlights include 2-tone leather seats as well as matching door panel inserts.
The car maker declined to mention the pricing, but every special edition will be made available to order within this year.
