BMW invented crossover coupe by launching X6 last 2007. After 7 years, it rolled out not just the 2nd generation X6, but also downsized the same model into a smaller X4 and now considered as the replacement for X6.
The newest 2019 BMW X4 will make its debut at 2018 Geneva Motor Show and it takes pride from being bigger and more advanced compared to the other model. This sports activity coupe is now over 3 inches in length and 1 ½ inch in width, which rides on a two-inch longer wheelbase. Its height is still the same and it hasn’t stopped its engineers from trimming about 110 lbs off its curb weight with low center of gravity and ideal 50/50 distribution of weight for better handling.
Designers have integrated LED head, fog and tail lights as well as active air vents. The shape was streamlined to slippery drag coefficient of 0.30. Under its slanted roofline, they still have managed to fit an 18.5 cu ft luggage compartment that might not seem like more of a crossover, yet it still more than you would find in 3 Series sedan. Fold its rear seats down and this figure expands to over fifty cubic ft.
2019 BMW X4’s cockpit was redesigned around the driver with higher seating position and lower instrument panel for more commanding of roads ahead. Extended exterior dimensions translate to a more legroom for back seats with panoramic moonroof to enjoy view on the top.
There is an oversized 10.25” touchscreen and an optional head-up display, which is 75% bigger in 2019 BMW X4. It has also voice and gesture control functionality. Aside from that, there is a variety of active safety systems available and these include lane-keeping assist, active cruise control, cross-traffic warning, around-view monitor, and parking assistant. In other words, there are lots of things to expect from the latest 2019 BMW X4.
