The BMW you will definitely love is finally here.
BMW has officially unveiled their 2019 M2 Competition run by an engine inspired by the engines of M4 and M3. There were earlier leaked images of the M2 Competition but the most crucial details were missed out. BMW announced that the latest M2 Competition will come with an inline 6-cylinder engine that has 406 lb. ft. of torque and 405 hp. Once equipped with the dual clutch transmission of the company, this coupe can run from 0 to 60 mph in just a matter of 4 seconds.
The limited top speed of M2 Competition will be 155 mph. But, the company will also gladly up this figure to as much as 174 mph with their M Driver’s Package. There are also changes in the chassis, such as the active M Differential, new carbon struts of high precision borrowed from M4 and M3 models, and the recalibrated electromechanical unit for power steering which works with Dynamic Steering Control system geared for high performance driving. Moreover, the car gets bigger brake discs as well as calipers, 6 pistons on the front and 4 pistons on the back. The M2 Competition calipers were painted in grey finish.
MW is proud to announce that it’s the first M2, which is equipped with the selector switches on the center console that enables individual changes that were made to the engine settings, Drivelogic functions, and steering. Pre-set configurations may be accessed on the fly with the use of the M2 and M1 buttons as seen in new M5 on its steering wheel. Aside from that, it comes standard with the park distance control. BMW M2 Competition in year 2019 comes standard with 6-speed manual transmission while its 7-speed M transmission that’s double clutch may be ordered as another option. It is expected that the new vehicle will arrive later this year in the dealership.
